Concrete Estimating Services

Our concrete estimating services cover every element of cast-in-place and precast concrete construction. We calculate exact volumes for footings, grade beams, pier caps, slab-on-grade, elevated slabs, retaining walls, and tilt-up panels. Rebar reinforcement is quantified by bar size, length, spacing, and tonnage including lap splice allowances. Formwork is measured in contact square footage with complexity factors for exposed architectural concrete, curved walls, and specialty pour configurations.

How We Estimate Concrete Estimating Projects

01

Review structural foundation plans, footing schedules, and slab details

02

Calculate concrete volumes (CY) per pour element with waste factors

03

Quantify rebar reinforcement by bar size, length, weight, and placement

04

Measure formwork contact area (SF) and identify reuse potential

05

Compile deliverable Excel spreadsheet with Bluebeam marked-up PDF plans

Common Concrete Estimating Project Types

Typical construction project types that require professional concrete estimating services.

Commercial Foundations

Spread footings, continuous footings, pile caps, and mat foundations for office buildings, retail centers, and warehouses.

Residential Slabs & Footings

Monolithic slabs, stem wall foundations, garage slabs, and driveway flatwork for single-family and multi-family housing.

Tilt-Up Concrete Panels

Industrial warehouse and distribution center tilt-up wall panels including embed plates, bracing, and joint sealants.

Infrastructure & Civil

Bridge abutments, retaining walls, box culverts, headwalls, and sound barrier walls for civil and DOT projects.

Concrete Estimating Challenges We Solve

Complex Rebar Schedules

We create detailed bar bend schedules with mark numbers, cut lengths, bend types, and placement quantities that fabricators can use directly for shop drawing preparation.

Varying Slab Thicknesses

Our estimators identify and separately calculate zones of different slab thickness, recessed areas, equipment pads, and thickened edges to prevent volume miscalculations.

Pour Sequence Planning

We organize concrete volumes by logical pour sequence (foundations first, then slabs, then elevated) so contractors can schedule batch plant deliveries efficiently.

Concrete Estimating Takeoff & Estimating FAQ

Do you calculate rebar tonnage and lap splice allowances?expand_more
Yes. We quantify all rebar by bar size and calculate total weight in tons, including standard lap splice lengths per ACI 318 requirements and additional overage for field cutting and waste.
Can you estimate both cast-in-place and precast concrete?expand_more
Yes. We handle cast-in-place volume calculations and formwork as well as precast panel counts, connection hardware, and erection sequencing for tilt-up and manufactured precast elements.
How do you account for concrete waste in your estimates?expand_more
We apply standard waste factors of 3-5% for slabs, 5-7% for footings and walls, and up to 10% for complex architectural pours. These factors are adjustable based on your project-specific experience.
