Drywall Estimating Services

Our drywall estimating covers complete interior partition and ceiling systems. We quantify gypsum board by type (regular, Type X fire-rated, moisture-resistant, abuse-resistant), thickness (1/2", 5/8"), and sheet count. Metal framing includes studs, runners, deflection track, bracing, and blocking by gauge and spacing. We also calculate joint compound gallons, tape rolls, corner bead lengths, acoustic insulation batts, and ceiling grid systems with tile counts.

How We Estimate Drywall Estimating Projects

01

Review architectural partition plans, reflected ceiling plans, and wall type schedules

02

Count drywall sheets by board type and calculate metal framing studs by wall height and spacing

03

Quantify accessories: joint compound, tape, screws, corner bead, and insulation

04

Calculate ceiling grid systems with tile counts and suspension wire quantities

05

Deliver itemized Excel material list with marked-up floor plans showing wall types

Common Drywall Estimating Project Types

Typical construction project types that require professional drywall estimating services.

Commercial Office Interiors

Tenant improvement buildouts with rated partitions, soffits, bulkheads, and acoustic ceiling grids.

Multi-Family Residential

Unit demising walls, corridor partitions, and bathroom moisture-resistant assemblies for apartment buildings.

Medical & Healthcare Facilities

Lead-lined walls, sound-rated partitions, and specialty ceiling systems for hospitals and clinics.

Retail & Hospitality

Custom soffits, curved walls, decorative bulkheads, and high-abuse drywall for stores and hotels.

Drywall Estimating Challenges We Solve

Multiple Wall Types Per Floor

We map each partition type from the wall type schedule and calculate materials separately for each — different stud gauges, board layers, insulation, and fire ratings are tracked independently.

Fire-Rated Partition Requirements

We identify 1-hour and 2-hour rated partitions and ensure correct board type (Type X), number of layers, and stud gauge specifications are applied to each assembly.

Acoustic & Sound-Rated Walls

STC-rated assemblies require specific insulation types, resilient channel, and double-layer board configurations. We break these out separately from standard partitions in the deliverable.

Drywall Estimating Takeoff & Estimating FAQ

Do you differentiate between board types (Type X, moisture-resistant, etc.)?expand_more
Yes. Every wall type is estimated with its specific gypsum board type as specified in the wall type schedule. Fire-rated, moisture-resistant, abuse-resistant, and standard boards are all tracked separately with accurate sheet counts.
Are ceiling grid systems included in drywall estimates?expand_more
Yes. We estimate complete suspended ceiling systems including main runners, cross tees, wall angles, suspension wires, and tile counts per the reflected ceiling plan.
How do you handle high-ceiling spaces where standard 4x8 sheets cannot cover full height?expand_more
We calculate the additional sheets and horizontal joints required for walls exceeding 8 feet, accounting for staggered joint patterns and additional blocking at horizontal seams per manufacturer installation requirements.
